US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated at the Reagan Economic Forum that the US has seized approximately $1 billion worth of Iranian cryptocurrency assets in order to further intensify pressure on the Iranian economy.Bassett said:“We have taken direct control of those cryptocurrency wallets.”The term ‘wallets’ here refers to accounts used to store digital currencies.He then added with a touch of humour:“Some of them may be logging into their accounts right now, only to find that we have already taken over their wallets.”
